About Us

In 2006, after acknowledging a shared passion for their Ford Mustangs, Rob Basile and Jeremy Marler thought about starting their own car club.  After deliberating with some close friends, and tossing a few names around, Mayhem Mustangs was born! 

Word spread quickly via flyers through the UNC Charlotte area and our first meet was held in the fall of 2006 on UNCC's campus.  With a group of 10 original members, Mayhem Mustangs was making themselves known, and heard, in the university area of Charlotte.  After our first semester of meeting, a forum was set-up, as well as more flyers sent out to spread the word and gain new members.  In the spring of 2007, we showed at our first car show, the Food Lion Auto Fair. 

In 2010, a committee of six members, consisting of Justin Larson, Jeremy Marler, Mike Meyer, Gipson Rumple, Chris Smith, and Chris Yerges was put together to draft the clubs first constitution.  After a year of drafting, the constitution was finished in the spring of 2011, followed by Mayhems first election of officers that fall.  These new officers will take office starting in 2012.

Over the years Mayhem has grown leaps and bounds, gaining new members, attending more car shows, and donating to local charities.  In 2011, Mayhem made national headlines thanks to Jeremy Marler for renaming the performance package on the 2012 v6 Mustang to the Mayhem Mustang Package. 

Thanks to the 10 original members, and new members that have followed that share the same passion, all of this has been done while sticking to the original idea behind Mayhem Mustangs ; to be a car club that brought Mustang lovers together to share their knowledge and passion with each other.
